1984 Porsche 930 Turbo Blackbird Available now from The Group B in Miami, Florida is this unique hotrod 930 turbo which came from Japan. This 1984 Porsche has a distinct look which is derived from the famous Japanese "blackbird". The "Blackbird" is one of the most legendary Porsche 930s in automotive lore, gaining massive fame as the antagonist's car in the cult-classic street racing manga and anime series Wangan Midnight. It was directly inspired by the real-life 930 Turbo owned by Eiichi Yoshida, chairman of Tokyo's notorious Mid Night Racing Team. Originally the car came from factory as a blue 930 turbo however it has been color changed to the dark gray metallic paint you see currently on the car. The front bumper with the fog lights was developed by Ms machine which replicates the Garage TBK front bumper. The RUF yellowbird style rear bumper rounds out the exterior and is functional allowing the massive turbo to breathe properly and has been custom shaved. 3.8 RS decklid and custom riser for downforce was added as well as SSR multi piece wheels that have been color matched and wrapped in R888 tires all around. The factory 3.3L turbo runs strong and is paired to the factory 4 speed manual transaxle. Motor has been fitted with sport cams and the head was ported. The Turbo is a g32 85 MM turbo and the ECU is a MOTEC with a Electronic fuel injection conversion. We have not dyno'd the car but it reportedly makes over 400 whp to the rear wheels. Having this much power the car needed to be upgraded so brand new Brembo F40 2 piece brakes in the front and Brembo 360s in the rear. Massive intercooler has been mounted and a turbosmart blow off valve that sounds glorious shifting in between gears. Suspension is fully converted to coilovers front and rear. The interior has been setup for racing. Rauh welt bride bucket seats are fitted in with a full matter roll cage. The rear seat has been deleted and the rear NACA duct setup on the quarter windows flow through the firewall to the turbo and intake. The stock steering wheel has been upgraded to a Porsche super cup 3 spoke MOMO wheel with removable hub for easy access in and out of the vehicle. RS door cards replace the original door cards with RS door pulls. The regular seat belts inside are red but also both bucket seats have been fitted with OMP harnesses to hold you in during agressive driving. Many more photos and videos available.
